Lakshmi in ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’

Actress Lakshmi, who has played Kamal’s interest in many films in the past, hasn’t been doing too many roles of late. The actress, who is equally popular on TV as well, is known for playing only important supporting artiste roles. It is now being said that the actress will play another important role in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’.

The film, whose shooting has been completed for most part, is being produced jointly by Rajkamal Films international and UTV. A remake of ‘A Wednesday’, it has Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan in the lead, with music by Shruthi Haasan.

Lakshmi, it is now said, will be part of a Kamal Haasan film after more than two decades, with ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’. In the film, the actress plays a high level government official.

Apart from Lakshmi, actress Anuja Iyer has been roped in to play the role of the TV journalist. Actors Prem and Ganesh Venkatraman, who have had brief stints with cinema, will be playing cops in the movie.
